Ingredients
- 400 grams macaroni
- 3 liters water
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp salt or salt to taste
- 4 oz Anchor Salted Butter
- 2 oz all-purpose flour
- 250 grams Anchor Vegetarian Cheddar Cheese
- 1 tsp ground black pepper
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 1 tbsp Bajan pepper sauce
- 2 tbsp honey mustard
- 2 oz fine bread crumbs
Directions
- In a saucepan put water to boil, add salt, vegetable oil, and macaroni. Stir
- Cook the pasta until firm, drain and set aside
- Take the honey mustard and mix the pasta
- In the saucepan melt Anchor Butter, add in all-purpose flour and stir well on low flame for about 2-3 mins
- Now add milk and stir again
- Put in finely chopped onion, ground black pepper, Bajan pepper sauce, and stir
- Add in half the amount of Anchor cheese and mix well
- You would have a nice cheese sauce at this point
- Combine the macaroni and the cheesy sauce together, mix good so that the macaroni is coated well
- Take a greased baking dish and put in half the amount of macaroni, layer with a little cheese then put in the remaining macaroni on top
- Sprinkle on the remaining Anchor Cheese
- Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the pie and dot the balance of butter over the bread crumbs
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Bake the macaroni pie for about 50 -60 mins or until Crispy Golden Brown
